What is Pump?

Pump is a software utility that helps you manage image files in PMP format from early Sony digital cameras. With Pump you can:

If you've used early Sony digital cameras, such as the DSC-F1 released in 1997, you've probably generated large quantities of image files scattered across many different folders. The files have uninformative filenames like "PSN00001.PMP" that don't sort chronologically, and they can't be opened by most viewer/editor programs because they're in Sony's proprietary PMP format.

Pump can help you clean up this kind of mess by converting your PMP files to JPG format and timestamping them with History Data filenames. After you run Pump, you can open your files with any viewer/editor software you choose, and when you sort them alphabetically by filename they'll arrange themselves in chronological order.

Pump is safe: it converts PMP files to JPG without any loss of quality, and it converts all proprietary PMP metadata (lens orientation, shutter speed, etc.) into History Data attributes, so you don't lose a thing. To learn more see the Pump version history.
